I live in Ontario, Canada and (unless there are restrictions in the states regarding load length on a vehicle roof that we don't have here) this kayak is totally transportable on top of a vehicle roof! I'm a single Mom, now a grandmother of two little guys, and I am the original owner of my 4.7 Spirit Duo kayak that I still have which my kids and I enjoyed very much. We never towed it! I always hefted it, for the most part by myself, on top of whatever car I was driving at the time albeit I must admit that the taller my vehicles became over the years, the more difficult to heft higher with it being 80 lbs. (Hefted my beloved kayak up from its bow, widthwise across my vehicle roof until it balanced, then turned it lengthwise on the roof (with sponges or racks) and tied it down, with the kayak right-side up.) Ya gotta love it. Just sayin', Lynn
