Type: Kayak
Used Wilderness Systems Pamlico 145T Tandem 2 Person Kayak 14 1/2 Feet Long With “Outriggers” For Added Balance. For Pick Up Only On Long Island Huntington Bay - Halesite NY. Kayak has normal scrapes on bottom of kayak from use on sandy beaches. 14 1/2 Feet Long. Big enough for 2 or 3 adults with gear.
It can be single handed by sliding the aft (rear or back) seat forward so that you are positioned just aft of the center line of the boat. Both seats are on slides for positioning in the cockpit. It’s really fast single handing and because of the length tracks really well. With 2 people paddling it’s a monster speed wise. Outriggers added for additional balance.
When outriggers are in ‘down’ position you can stand up in the kayak to fish or change positions or get into another boat. This kayak was used to take me from the beach to get onto my moored sailboat in Northport. With the outriggers the kayak is very stable and can withstand even a minor ocean or bay wave chop without losing stability. The outriggers fold up to allow you the full kayaking experience allowing you to increase speed without the outriggers slowing you down at all. They can be easily removed while kayaking and take about 10 seconds to put each one on.
I will add photos of the outriggers shortly. Overall I would call the kayak in great mechanical condition with no leaks or patches needed. Cosmetically there are minor beach scrapes on the outer bottom keel/hull where you would drag it out of the water on the sand. In the pictures the kayak is dirty because it’s been outside and under my boat which is being worked on in a boatyard. I will clean it up and make it look pretty when you get it.
The kayak is not being used at this time because I had knee replacement surgery and can’t risk getting injured climbing out of the kayak to get onto my sailboat and in reverse at the end of the day. So I’m now using launch service and will not have anywhere to store the kayak when it’s not being used. At 14 12 feet long it’s a bit too big to leave on my sailboat, so my loss is your gain. And it’s 14 1/2 feet long so figure out how you going to transport it because it’s not going in the back of a hatchback. Plan on a roof rack or pick up truck with tie downs.
I can assist you with securing it. The kayak is being sold in ‘used’ condition and there is no warranty on it. I can not take returns on it after the sale because I have nowhere to store it once my sailboat goes in the water next week. I can not ship it or send it by truck. Payment must be made through Paypal in full before coming to pick it up.
I can not take deposits with you checking it out after the sale. I will be adding more pictures of it shortly when I can get to the boatyard and wash it down. If you are in the New York area and don’t know where Huntington is - exit 49 north on the Long Island Expressway and then north about 20 minutes. We are about an hour from the Cross Island Parkway and Long Island Expressway and we live nearby in the town of Northport. If you win the auction or a buy it now before next week then you will pick up the kayak in Halesite HUNTINGTON Bay at a boatyard.
This is about 5 minutes north of the town of Huntington. As always positive actions will get positive feedback. I am a long tie classifieds board user with 100% positive +++ feedback as a seller and buyer. Good luck bidding and I know you’ll enjoy this kayak.
