This is a bundle that includes 1 Sevylor Quikpak K5 inflatable kayak, 1 paddle that screws together, and 1 adult medium/large life vest. *A PUMP IS NOT INCLUDED* However, a hose with the necessary tips is included, and the Internet tells me it connects to several types of Coleman pumps. I bought everything around 2012 or 2013. All of it has been used a maximum of 5 times in freshwater. It's been stored in a garage for 3-4 years and seems to still be in good condition.
The Kayak:This is an older model (though the features seem identical) of the kayak found here: Amazon Manual: Manual Here There are some marks on both the inside and outside. Some of it is just dried dirt and the remnants of river water. The last photo shows some of this on the inside. The kayak works very well in the water - I greatly enjoyed using it and found it pretty similar to a normal (non-inflatable) kayak. If you're a kayak expert, you probably won't feel the same, but it's definitely fun for an amateur.
For reference, I'm about 6 feet and 170 lbs and I fit in it comfortably. If you're much taller, it might not work as well. The website says it can hold 250 lbs. The material is pretty sturdy, so I was never worried about punctures. There's a little storage compartment in the back that is not waterproof.
The whole thing folds up into a backpack when it's deflated. Pretty cool and handy for storage. It does take a little bit of effort, and you'll want the kayak to dry off before you fold it up. The manual (not included, but link is above) has illustrations showing the correct folding pattern. If you have a large car, it miiiiiiiiight not be worth folding.
Part of the backpack turns into the kayak seat, and the other part turns into the spray guard that covers your legs in the kayak. The whole thing weighs about 26 pounds deflated. I used it less than 5 times for two reasons. First, I got rid of my car, and that made transporting it a big pain. Second, I found pumping it up to be something of a struggle.
There are three air valves. The one on the floor is a small size, and it's great. The other two are a larger size, and the tip of the hose doesn't fit snugly in it. You need to hold it in the valve with your hand (or have a friend do it for you), and it's not very comfortable to do this while also operating the pump with your other hand. It all works fine (as you can see in the photos, I just inflated and deflated it), but I always wished it was designed differently.
The Paddle:I think this paddle came with the kayak originally, since it is identical to the one on the website. It works just fine and breaks down into three shorter pieces for easy transportation. It can be a little tough getting the grey pieces to fit into the black connector pieces, but it all works fine as you can see in the photo. The Life Vest:This is an MTI life vest, size Adult Medium/Large, that I bought at REI. I'm about 6 feet, 170 lbs, and it fits me great.
If you're a lot bigger or smaller, you probably need a bigger size. But hey, maybe a friend wants to take the kayak out... Why A Pump Is Not Included:My memory is a little hazy, but I think I broke the original hand pump that came with the kayak. For the photos, I inflated/deflated it using a Coleman pump that we have for inflating air mattresses. You'll receive the original hose and valve adaptors that came with it. I believe these work with most Coleman pumps (maybe all?).
I highly recommend getting an electric pump for convenience.
