Poke Boat Maxi 12' Kevlar Kayak Phoenix Lightweight / Handmade / Waterfowl

This is just an awesome boat. This auction is for a used POKE BOAT, HANDMADE by Phoenix boat. Its the MAXI model, which is about 12' long, said to be 3' wide, and can carry 1/2 people, up to 500 pounds. It is made of Kevlar, which makes this 12' boat come in at about 27 pounds... its no effort to car top it with one person. Its made for flat water mostly and super stable, so you could actually knee or stand up in it, if your so inclined.

Its advertised as being great for fly fishing and hunting waterfowl. It drafts only 3" with a 250 pound person, so can get in the weeds. It comes with a camo seat back and 2 inflatable air bags for extra buoyancy if your going in rougher water.. Its a cruiser, not a racer, that's why its a Poke Boat. Regarding damage, you can see the drag marks on the bottom, but they are not deep. You can also see the 2 abrasions on either side.

One look like it goes through, but it does not... the seam is factory taped on the inside. Both look like they could easily be sanded smooth, and the waterproof banding tape be removed and reapplied. Again.. it is watertight as it sits. It looks like the cover shows a little fade, but one of the things about these boats, is that you could if you wanted, go to Home Depot and get an acrylic paint spray can and repaint it. It has tags from a local towns storage rack from 2006.

I picked it up used at an estate sale. I'm a 6'6" 300 pound guy and with the large cockpit I could put my son in the front and go on our adventures, car topping it without assistance. The boat is over 10 years old, but it was garage kept for many years before I got it, and the new factory ones, are handmade identically to this one, unless someone told you, you wouldn't know. I hate to sell it, but I have to cover 2 weeks of sleep away boy scout camp... This boat new is almost $3000.. I'm starting it at $800, but no idea what its worth, so make a reasonable offer... there aren't any on classifieds board to compare too, and they are hard to find. Boat is located in Redding CT (06896), and I'm looking to have it be local pickup.

If you are within 100 miles any direction from 06896, I will deliver it for $100 plus tolls. If you are in a direction I often travel, near Boston/ Andover, or upstate NY near Binghamton / Syracuse /finger lakes, and flexible on timing, I might be able to go beyond the 100 mile radius. If you want it shipped to you, I would arrange to ship the air bags and camo seat back separately, and work out freight quotes, so any quotes you are generated, assume another $30-40.
