Perception Prodigy Ii 14.5 Two-Seater Tandem Kayak, Excellent Condition, Rare 

Perception Prodigy II 14.5 tandem kayak in Sunset red, excellent condition, hardly used. Perception doesn’t make this two-seater kayak any more which is kind of odd because when it was new it got brilliant reviews. The design was focused on speed, tracking and minimal noise when paddling through flat water and light currents. Despite its roominess the boat goes along really easily and is surprisingly agile. My partner and I (and the dog) used it no more than a handful of times on the Wye and in Christchurch harbour so it’s in excellent condition with only minimal scratching.

We have always stored it out of the sun so there has been no UV degradation. The pic of the underside looks like there are patchy bits but these are only reflections of surrounding trees. That's down to my photography ‘skills’, sorry. There’s a stern hatch with bulkhead and very comfortable and supportive Zone DLX seats with thigh padding. There are multiple adjustment options including an on-the-fly movable bow seat, height adjustable backrests, leg lifter supports, and adjustable pedal footrests.

We didn’t get the optional third add-in kids seat when we bought the canoe new as we didn’t have a small add-in kid at the time, but you should be able to find a used one somewhere if this is important to you. Included with the kayak are two Ruk flotation bags and two Feelfree 230cm one-piece fibreglass shaft paddles (now costing £65 each new) which are lighter and warmer than the standard alloy paddles. The kayak is 14ft 6in (442cm) long and 31in (79cm wide). Cockpit width is 23in (58cm). Weight is 73lb (33kg).

My partner and I had no trouble lifting it off and on the roof of our estate car. Maximum carrying capacity is 550lb (250kg) which is equivalent to three pretty hefty adults. These kayaks hardly ever come up on the used market. This one is advertised elsewhere so it could disappear from here at anytime. Collection only from our place near Builth Wells in Powys (near the Brecon Beacons) once money has been transferred.
