This is a well maintained kayak that has been well-used on multi-day expeditions from North Carolina to Maine. Although structurally solid with watertight bulkheads and deck hatches, it is an older boat and shows signs of every awesome outing it has seen. That said, this kayak has much life left and will serve another paddler well for many years to come! The Avatar is sleek and smooth handling. Ideally suited for slim + trim paddler the cockpit is tight and the thigh braces large and accommodating to the needs of the paddler.

You can move + control the boat with your thighs quite well, even if a novice in a Greenland style kayak like the Avatar.Storage is adequate but for my regular, yearly camping and multi-day treks I added multiple additional connection points across the deck to accommodate netting, bags, and equipment, from lights to a deck compass. The two hatches are the older style neoprene caps with hard top deck covers. Both neoprene covers were replaced end of last season and have been maintained in perfect working order. Hatches are watertight. Coaming is in good shape across the kayak.Kayak comes with two spray skirts- one tropical weight and one open water weight, in addition to a set of kayak wheels.
