Kayak - Perception Shadow Sea Lion Composite/fiberglass Sea Kayak - 16.5 Feet

This Shadow 16.5 Fiberglass Composite Kayak is a wonderful boat for anyone looking to fish, explore, or exercise in the sunshine this summer. Whether you're on Candlewood Lake, the Connecticut River, Long Island Sound, or somewhere more exotic, this boat will get you out on the water in a hurry! It's light, responsive, fast through the water, and easy to handle on shore. Tracks arrow-straight when up to speed, but maneuvers deftly in tight spaces as well. Stable enough to land a big fish, and with enough storage capacity for all your weekend camping gear or a cooler full of iced beverages.

Fiberglass construction means this boat is light enough to lift overhead and place on top of your car alone (this boat weighs about 50lbs, compare to 70lbs+ for a plastic kayak). This kayak is equipped with a rudder controlled by a foot pedal system that makes paddling in crosswinds or crosschop very easy. It's also more forgiving when you're learning to paddle in a straight line! The boat has never been dropped or dented, but there are some normal wear-and-tear scratches on the hull. The deck and cockpit coaming also have some minor scratches from paddle use.

There's some corrosion on the rudder mount, the thru-hulls could use a resealing, and you may want to replace the lines and bungees (including the rudder retrieval line, which is no longer in one piece but still works), but functionally, everything works great. It has been stored in my garage when not in use. Asking price includes a waterproof spray skirt, a lightweight composite adjustable paddle, and a floating bilge pump, as well as a Yakima rooftop car rack (tie-down straps optional but not pictured).
