The extra length also gives you better leg room (This is a great boat to look at if you’re tall!) and better storage space in the two good size hatches. That said the thing that really makes or breaks it for people with this boat is the size of the cockpit, its big this makes it really easy to get in to and out of, and when in the seating position is open and relaxed, and the back rest provided excellent support. On the flip side though if you’re looking for a boat with a good “fitted” style cockpit that gives you real control over the boat this may not be the one for you. Outfitting as with the 12 you get Perceptions very comfortable, zone padded seat and backrest with 2 way adjustment, padded thigh braces and adjustable footrests. On deck you get, deck elastics, grab lines and a handy paddle park.
What Perception say : The Carolina 14 is longer and narrower than the Carolina 12 for additional speed and directional control on anything from flat water to coastal swells. It's loved by paddlers of all abilities for its stable and easy to handle characteristics, taking you further with the minimum of effort. A roomy cockpit provides the chance to relax on easier waters and instils confidence to take on greater challenges. The Carolina 14 with its ample storage space carries all the equipment you need wherever you set your boundaries.
