Ocean Kayak have given the Trident Ultra 4.3 all the practical features from the Prowler/Trident range and then added some brilliant new and features teamed with the tri-formed hull built for speed and stability with higher volume up front with a flared bow for a drier ride and well laid out accessible deck area with plenty of storage. Being slightly shorter than the Trident Ultra 4.7 it is more manageable both on and off the water. The Trident Ultra series was crafted in collaboration with pro kayak anglers from around the world. Fast and nimble the Trident Ultra 4.3 can handle ocean swells and glide through calm waters with surprising speed. Based on the Trident Ultra 4.7 this shorter sibling is loaded with even more innovative features making it the new benchmark for fishing kayaks.

I purchased this Kayak about 10 years ago from Cornwall Kayaks in Plymouth mainly for fishing off the Cornwall coast, for which it has been perfect and very well suited for inshore and estuary fishing. We used to own a static caravan near Looe (now sold) and my intention was to get out on the sea and fish for Bass, Pollack and Mackerel whenever we were in Cornwall. To be honest I haven't used it that much, perhaps less than 20 times, so it is still in really great condition. It is very stable and I have sat on the side gutting fish I caught before heading for the shore and home. With the sonar you can locate fish very easily and rarely did I get home without a catch (usually Pollack and Mackerel).

It comes with a removable Lowrance Elite-4 Chirp Sonar fish finder 4.3 inch screen full VGA TFT (with new battery, charger), transducer, GPS included with waypoint saving, Anchor with Diver's reel and float, rear basket with 3 rod holders. Drogues (x2), Landing net and Keep net. The downscan feature of the sonar allows you to see bottom structure and underwater structures. The downscan with chirp effectively separates and displays suspended fish from surrounding structure. Also has trackback to store all sonar readings overlaid onto a map display where you can add waypoints (fishing hotspots or wrecks) - see photo.

I did use the kayak to map the contours of our sailing lake storing all the readings (including position) once per second on the included smart card.
