This is the same make and model that the legendary Ed Gillette first took from San Filipe to either Mulege or Loretto for a trial run. He then kayaked from Punta Arenas,Chile to Panama. It is an outstanding kayak for ocean , Lake and river, but not white water, kayak. It is well designed and while not a racign kayak, it is still a pretty fast kayak for its class. The kevlar gives a stiff but lightweight boat and it glides through the water.
Its design is very stable. It weighs 40#, is 16.5 feet long and had a great capacity for paddler, gear and supplies. It balances on the under the gunnels grip from either side. It seems much lighter than its weight due to the excellent balance. I am including two paddles, the Carlisle adjustable angle blue paddle RS series -RS Magic, plus a collapsable paddle.
There is also a roof rack kayak adapter which I need to find, but paddles and roof rack unit are near Palm Springs and will need to be delivered to L.A. Where the kayak is located for local pickup. I still have not found my other gear, which others packed when I moved, so there might be some other extras available. I will include what I can find and will remain in touch if I do find them. This is a fantastic kayak with minimal wear.
The only thing needed is that the elastics need replacing and the handles also. The retail with the rudder is $3700. The asking price is somewhat in the middle of the range for this hard to find outstanding kayak in outstanding used condition. Please pay by Paypal within 2 days, LOCAL PICKUP IN WEST LOS ANGELES to be arranged. I have moved away from the ocean and now have no local use of this kayak, so lucky person will have a lifetime top end kayak.
Since I have moved, the pickup will be arranged by a friend. This auction is buy it now or best offer. The classifieds board program refuses to allow that change in this listing. Please contact me if there are any questions.
