Seaking sea kayak. Originally from Trylon, I made a new set of moulds to a better than original standard in around 2005, and for a few years produced them under the name Trinity Kayaks, mainly in France. The idea behind this one was a stripped down version for short sheltered trips. Consequently it has no hatches, except for a day hatch on the front deck, which is big enough for your car keys, a sandwich, mars bar (other chocolates are available) and a drink. The bulkhead behind the seat is fixed, and has a hatch the same size as the deck hatch; the idea being that it was a watertight compartment, but was accessible should the need arise.
I can't find the hatch cover for this, but they cost about 15 quid (just google "kajaksport round 10 hatch"). The construction is bulletproof, as were all the hulls. Double diolen with an integral kevlar keelstrip. In 30 years time, when you've dragged it up more beaches than you can shake a camera at, and you've finally worn through it, bring it back and my son will replace it for you....The other modification to this boat was that because the original SeaKing was quite a large boat, this one was reduced around the cockpit by about an inch and a half to make it so that you were more in contact with the boat. The last photo shows the comparison between this one, the normal one and an Anas Acuta on the bottom for reference..If it's been used half a dozen times I would be surprised, as my normal boat was usually the fully loaded version with a bike and the kitchen sink.
There's more marks on it from being moved from shed to shed over the last 10 years. There's a couple of marks on the hull from something red, which will buff out if you're fussed (or you could just ignore it and go paddling...) and a couple of hairline cracks in the gel where something has hit it, which again, make not one bit of difference. It's basically a new boat, but a bit grubby. In it's current state, I wouldn't be taking it out to sea. It doesn't have a front watertight compartment, and it doesn't have any deck lines. Use it for what it was designed for though, and it's a cracking boat.
Tips the scales at 21kg. Any questions, just ask..Collection only. No buy it now; watching the auction run is one of the few bits of excitement I have these days.... Welcome to come and have a socially distanced look at it, but you bid to buy. I would expect the winning bidder to pay a 10% deposit at least within 24 hours of the auction ending.
