Sea Kayak - Janautica Anadyr

SEA KAYAK - Janautica Anadyr.Italian manufactured fibreglass touring kayak. Length 535cm, Width 54cm, Weight 23kgCurrent price new €1,540Approximately 18 years old. Initially used for kayak club trips and for family recreation. Latterly not used at all, stored mostly in a garage.Like most seagoing kayaks it has very limited primary stability. As I found it quite tippy I made two modifications:Firstly I lowered the seat (which could easily be put back into it's original position if required).

Secondly I made a shaped lead weight which I could optionally install under the seat.These two modifications did not affect the seaworthiness of the kayak but made it much easier to handle for less skilled paddlers.It was enjoyable to paddle and comfortable to sit in (I am 6' 2") and it handled well on the sea trips in all sorts of weather and sea conditions.Various members of the family also enjoyed paddling on Loch Lomond or at the sea in calm conditions.It is in good condition for its age although there are some scrapes on the hull. I do not believe that there is any serious damage (see photos).It would benefit from upgrading with thicker deck lines as the current deck lines are quite thin.The kayak would need to be collected from Bishopbriggs, Glasgow.
