It's an excellent kayak for camping trips for a few days or just being on the water fishing/photography.The hull is quite 'bloomed' from being in the sun but not crazed or oxidised. The kayak may be Kevlar construction but I'm not sure about that, I'm basing that on the weight by comparison to my other two kayaks which are Diolen and GRP-polyester, and a lot heavier. Either way it's a light and beautifully made GRP boat that will live long. No major scratchs and no repairs, see photos.
The Marinier is very quick and light, lighter than my P&H Outlander, at 15'6", by a lot. The hatches are neoprene covers with hard shaped covers underneath to prevent the covers from imploding in a roll or wave. There is also a neoprene spraydeck as shown in the photo, with braces. The kayak is clean, has knee braces built in and moulded seat. Depending on the person the seat could use either a back belt or a seat back, there is a seat back with the boat but I never used it.The boat was built in Seattle, USA, so you won't find many of these about, comes with it's ' User's Manual' as well!
