Mercury point 65 modular kayak. Very good condition. The Mercury GTX solo breaks apart into three manageably sized sections, with the bow section fitting into the midsection’s cockpit for storage. I have managed to fit the Mercury GTX into a Kia Sportage with ease. The pieces assemble in seconds using Point 65’s patented Snap-Tap technology: interlocking bulkheads paired with deck-mounted ratchet straps.

Each section is entirely self-contained, the spacious bow and stern hatches are bone dry even with waves washing over the deck. I have had the pleasure of using this kayak for weekend camping trips and have managed to fit all my camping equipment inside with ease. The modular design is also versatile—you can snap in a second cockpit section to transform the Mercury into a tandem kayak. The Mercury’s seat is designed for all-day comfort. Gas pedal-style foot braces control Point 65’s pivoting stern keel, which has a cleaner deck profile and less windage than an external rudder.

An integrated skeg works more as a steering enhancement than a set-it-and-forget-it tracking aid. This particular kayak has been used on the river five times and is really good fun and handles well. It has the usual scrapes and scratches on the bottom which is shown in the photos but does not effect the performance of this special kayak. It has never been stored outside and has always been cleaned after every trip out. Two piece paddle included with purchase.
