Klepper T6 Sailing Kayak, Never Wet. Museum Quality Vintage Package

Klepper T6 Sailing Kayak. This was assembled as a display by Abercrombie &Fitch (the real one) when it was new for the 195x (mid to late 1950’s) New York Boat Show. It was purchased on the boat show floor by a local enthusiast, who promptly stored it in his barn and never used it. A far as I can tell it’s never been wet. I purchased it a few years ago with the intent of using it, but never have.

It’s been assembled dry my workshop since I purchased it. The wood and fittings are all in excellent condition. The blue canvas of the hull top is in excellent condition. The rubber hull seems fine, albeit stiff. All original accessories are included.

The sail is original and the varnished spars are beautiful. The rigging is as-assembled at the boat show. It includes leeboards and rudder, along with rudder pedals. That system appears to never have been fully rigged. Paddles are included and appear new, with original Klepper decals.

This is a time capsule. Since the skin is very tight on the frame, I have not attempted to disassemble it, and will not do so. Local pickup in Keyport NJ only. I have a full sized pickup truck with cap and can negotiate delivery for a fee-per-mile in the area ranging from perhaps Massachusetts to Virginia, or you can arrange your own shipping. I intended to have a new Hypalon skin made for this, and to commission it into use, bu I’ve simply been too busy and don’t see that changing.
