Klepper T8 Frame Note: NO Skin 1956 ~16' and 8"'s Long Ash frame is in excellent condition So why buy a kayak frame: 1. Hang upside down from the ceiling at your lake house, seafood restaurant, rustic cabin, etc. Looks pretty cool! 2. Use it as a model to fiberglass. A CLC kit is over $1,000.
Here you get a perfect frame to start from. Fiberglass it in half the time and half the cost of buying a kit that you have to endlessly cut, sand, glue, etc. 3. Buy a skin from Wayland or Longhaul and at about the half the cost of a new Aerius II you have a new kayak. The unique feature of the T8 was that it did not use sponsoons on either side. Housekeeping Shipping: I have $200 shown for shipping.
If it is less than that I will credit your paypal account. However the cost of shipping includes 2 FedEx golf club boxes that telescope to fit the bag and a second box for the ribs. It also includes the cost of tape, bubble wrap, etc. To make sure it arrives intact. So don't have high hopes of getting much back.
That said this is a deal at $450. You get the complete frame. A original bag for the long pieces. Not an original bag (a gym bag) for some smaller pieces and no bag for the ribs. Please review all the photos however I put it together and all the parts are present.
The ash frame is in excellent condition as are the blue holders for the Longerons. One last note: If you have owned a Aerius a couple of points. Note in the pics next to last that the ribs do not connect on floorboards with snaps but with screws. The T8 is slightly shorter than the 17' Aerius. Please review all the photos.
REMEMBER: THERE IS NO SKIN SO USE IT FOR DECORATION, BUY A SKIN FROM WAYLAND OR LONGHAUL OR FIBERGLASS IT. IF YOU ARE REALLY AMBITIOUS THERE ARE SITES THAT WALK YOU THROUGH MAKING A FOLDING KAYAK SKIN. BTW: THIS CAN BE PICKED UP IN SPARTANBURG, SC. AT NO CHARGE Below is some additional information from a 3rd Party. The T8 is a legend and a beauty!
Take it! It is a reliable and fast boat with a lot of place for your luggage. See more: http://faltbootbasteln.de/fbb-klepper-t8.html http://faltbootbasteln.de/fbb-klepper-zweier-kajaks.html#klepper_t8 It is 9kg lighter than the following model T12 (2 more ribs and stonger sideparts - not nessessary) The hull will get the final shape when the boat is in the water. Water pressure will tighten the hull and it will fit perfect. Don't fumble around with sponsons.

Hash=itemphone7 There are still a few T8 in Germany an Austria but I think in the states they are seldom and you got one! Take care of it.
See this video: http://www.klepper.de/de/videos.php ("Aufbauanleitung (hohe Auflösung - DSL") - 54 MB) It's about the Aerius but this does not matter, the assembling is the same since 50 years. Let the ribs stand on the keel first, as shown. The parts of the old models are not marked in red and blue that obvious, but they are. The hooks on the end of the rods have to show UP and there are small screws on two of the sockets. These srews have to "look" inside the boat, otherwise they will destroy the hull.
You might experience that it's dificult to disassemble the boat because the rubber sticks to the frame. That's normal. To avoid it put bow and stern in big garbage bags before inserting into the hull. Be sure that the frame is well centered in the hull before setting bow and stern under tension. It's easy to be controlled by the orange cording that runs around the boat.
If you use the boat on saltwater, rinse it with freshwater afterwards.
