Klepper Aerius Ii Folding Kayak

Purchased from Klepper NY in 1964, this boat came into my possession in the late 1980s. I used it for many years in it's original state and eventually replaced parts as they degraded, wore out or became obsolete. Replaced parts include: expedition hull, foam seat bases, rudder foot controls and fiberglass paddles (originals also included). As can be seen in the photos there was some damage to the forward deck which has been professionally repaired by Klepper. In it's present state it's totally seaworthy and expedition ready.

The expedition hull is a huge upgrade from the standard in terms of durability and options for gear storage. A sailing kit is also included, which I did not maintain, so the sails and shrouds are in bad shape--still useful as a template for replacements, although they can probably still be purchased new from Klepper. The original Klepper bags are usable but probably should be replaced. A new Aerius II Expedition sells for close to $6,000 and this one is pretty close--with a few mostly cosmetic flaws. I've listed this as Local Pickup Only, but I'm willing ship it at the buyer's expense.

I have no idea what that would cost, probably in the ball park of $100-200.
