This boat can handle open water as it is a very seaworthy vessel.My two kids and I don’t fit into it comfortably so there is really no sense in keeping it It comes with 2 frames - one newer and one older and one brand new skin (hull).I’ve had the frames for 11 years and didn’t get around to buying the new hull until just last year.Had it in the water twice just to try it out before I now sell it for a bigger boat.The pic of the whole frame is actually the older backup frame.The only pic I have right now of the newer frame is the one that shows the frame in two-halves One Brand New Skin:Beautiful new skin made by Long Haul Kayaks (Colorado) in the summer of 2023A2 Expedition Hull with added D rings for sailingDeck is blue and the hull is black, with keel strips, life-lines, d-rings for sailing all part of Long Haul’s Expedition upgrades.Simply a beautiful piece of craftsmanship Two Frames:Both frames are German made by Klepper.1st one is I think a 1970s model and is in good conditionVarnished and is pretty enough to display on a wall or hanging from a ceiling.Has black rubber style seats which are comfortableComes with with a fully functional foot activated rudder kit 2nd one is likely a 1960s model and is in fair condition1 or 2 parts require repairAll pieces could use some sanding and a coat of varnish to get it to looking like the newer oneYou can just keep it on-hand for parts because they are identical in size and type, or you could buy a hull (~$3k) and have an extra kayak.Has older wooden seats with inflatable cushions which I’d be surprised if they still hold air for very longNo rudder kit for this frame One Sail Kit:Comes with 1 original 55 Square Foot Klepper S2 sail kit, which is in surprisingly good shape.Gaff rig mainsail with jib style head sailIncludes all standing and running rigging, cross bar for lee boards, and lee boardsI think there are 2 small tears in the mainsail, but I’ve either taped them already or you could easily do that yourself if I didn’t.All the rigging is original and functional.Jib has no tears.No outriggers, but would not use them if I had them. One Rudder Kit:Aluminum rudderFoot pedals and all rigging One Boat Cover:Seems to have been custom made perhaps in the 80’s or 90’sNot in the best of shape around the seams but the canvas has no holes and covers the boatFits very snuggly so perhaps it has shrunk to some degree with age Two Genuine Wooden Klepper Paddles:Both come apart for easier storage and transportationThey are in pretty decent shape for their ageGuessing they didn’t get much use in the last 30 years due to the availability of modern paddlesIf I am mailing this boat to you, you may elect to not take the paddles to save on shipping costsNOTE: The more modern paddle shown in some of the water pics is not included One Bag of Servicing Hardware:There is a bunch of spare aluminum hardware parts and brackets including rivets which can be used to make repairs in the original manner Shipping:I have no idea what shipping might cost so I have estimated $300.
