Boat Type: Kayak
Good quality Kevlar hulled K2. Being a faster hull profile this is quite a wobbly kayak, so not recommended for first time kayakers. Mind you... I had a lot of fun falling out of it as a novice...so...? It is of sound sturdy construction and has upgraded wooden seats (adjustable on rails)... nice and comfortable (I used it in training for the Devises to Westminster 125 mile non-stop kayak race... so I fitted the best seats I could find). It is fitted with an under-stern rudder and is equipped for and over-stern if this were ever to be needed/preferred.
It weighs about 17kg which is easily manageable by one person for loading on cars and really light when portaging with a crew of two. It has suffered a few knocks to the side rail (red strip along the side - photos show, but these are cosmetic and would be fixed with a touch of epoxy... I've just never got around to it). The kayak is in good condition and hasn't been subject to much use, as you'll see from the foot plate and rudder bar. The hull has a few small areas of minor surface damage (short dark stripes). These were there when I purchssed the kayak and have not got any worse in the 10 years that I've owned - nothing unusual for a used kayak.
It's a great kayak and I'm sorry to be selling it, but I don't kayak anymore and it's better that somebody else has the fun of having it. Thanks for looking.
