Freedom Hawk Pathfinder 14 Foot Fishing Kayak With Outriggers Ex-Demo

Please check this YouTube video out to see how this kayak operates: https://youtu.be/ivOUg61Cz44 I was advised by a representative of Freedom Hawk that THIS KAYAK WAS MANUFACTURED ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO and only ever used as a demonstration display model and had never, for reasons unknown, actually gotten its feet wet until it was examined by the manufacturers distributor with a fine tooth comb and washed in preparation for delivery to me. I did inspect the kayak at the time and found some external scuff marks, presumably caused by vibration whilst being transported but there was no other evidence of damage or mistreatment. However it has never been launched or used and being it’s first owner” I still think of it as a “new? ” kayak__ there.have been no changes or updates to its design therefore it is the current model Pathfinder. Unfortunately due to the advancing detrimental effects of a progressively degenerative neurological illness (Parkinsons disease) I was diagnosed with 15 years ago, I had been searching for a way to exercise.that involved smooth non jarring movement.

As a fairly avid kayaker in my younger years I wanted to get back into it but I discovered the existence of the Pathfinder too late take advantage of its amazing stability. I held onto the kayak hoping for a medical breakthrough or reprieve, that would enable me to use it but obviously that didn’t happen... but life goes on regardless. I’m hoping to draw the attention of a physically handicapped or physically challenged person who has.an active interest in kayaking but is prevented from participating by their condition and who believes the Pathfinder would assist them to overcome some of their challenges or provide a way to help them achieve their goals. I would happily do whatever was necessary, short of breaking the law or contravening classifieds boards guidelines (irrespective of how draconian I think those regulations are) to try to ensure it went to someone for whom the kayak would genuinely help in some real way to assist their quality of life as it was intended to do for me. Freedom Hawk is a respected US manufacturer and the Pathfinder is classed as a one person fishing kayak and is suitable for use in both fresh and salt water.

The innovations integrated into the Pathfinders design and its hip hugging comfortable seat provides a uniquely stable and secure kayaking experience which would probably bore to death the fearless, insanity afflicted psychotic mob of deranged thrill seekers that choose to inhabit stretches of whitewater where they are free to commit unfathomable but exciting acts of random insanity... this is not the kayak for them. The Pathfinders outriggers are uniquely designed to fit into recesses in the hull which, while complimenting the overall streamlined profile and minimising drag, their is also the ease with which the outrigger system is deployed and adjusted from the pilots seat by a very simple but efficient lever system but there’s more! The rigid reinforced floor is also integral to providing such a degree of stability the kayaker can stand up on the reinforced floor and move around in the middle of the kayak, to fish or paddle or just relax and/or lean on the bar that is customised to fit into recesses in the floor specifically designed for the purpose. This remarkably practical and simple design is suitable for most people but it could also.make a substantial difference for those dealing with additional balance issues or who for whatever reason are physically unstable (the reason I acquired this particular kayak) or handicapped who have difficulty maintaining a safe equilibrium in a high centre of gravity environment, by providing a more secure and dependable means to experience the magic of kayaking and for those who have been put off kayaking after constantly losing the contest with gravity to keep a single hull kayak in an upright position this kayak is virtually bomb proof... if used with a little common sense and respect. The kayak has an overall length of 14 feet with the outriggers fitted or 12 feet without the outriggers.

The outriggers securely anchor to the hull but easily detach to lighten the weight of the kayak for transportation. An electric motor can be mounted on the kayak using a metallic plate which I intended to utilise to provide a reliable backup method for getting home. I will give the plate to the new owner along with the approved life saving vest I bought at the time. The paddle was supplied as part of the original kayak package and is customised to clip into the hull and will also be supplied with the kayak. The kayak is located in Mornington and inspection is welcome by appointment if you can figure out how to get around classifieds boards draconian contact regulations designed specifically to prevent prospective buyers from being able to get location information from sellers for the purpose of inspection until after the completion of the auction... which sort of defeats the purpose!!!

However, to guarantee buyer satisfaction, if you bid and win this auction but find the kayak isn’t up to your expectations when you come to pick it up, I will cancel the sale and reimburse any funds that have changed hands and will take personal responsibility for any classifieds board hissy fits or charges related to this auction. Delivery is by PICK UP ONLY, from Mornington, Victoria. The images I’ve used are stock photos of the make, model and colour of the kayak, NOT of the actual one I’m selling. I will add photos of the actual kayak for sale late Saturday (31st Aug) afternoon. Cash payment on pick up or bank transfer prior to pick up is preferred but PayPal is accepted.
