Canoe Or Row Boat? Hunting Or Photography? No Reserve!

Ok so I bought this 'canoe' about 6 or 8 months ago... only to find that it isn't, I don't think, actually a canoe. I think it's better described as a Row Boat? It has two rowlock holders (no rowlocks though) and two oars that you would normally see on a row boat. It's also heavier than I would expect a canoe to be - too heavy for me to fling around like I wanted to. The woman I bought it off knew little about it, so there was no real description, and I only saw photos of it upside down.

When I went to collect it, it clearly was not what I expected - but hey, I won the auction so that's how it goes. Her story goes something like this... 'My [late] husband had it made specifically for duck hunting - and he used it every year for many years. I think that some of the timber pieces are maybe a screen to hide behind when out hunting on the water? ' So I thought that maybe it'd be pretty cool to take my camera out on the lake for a different kind of 'shooting' but between work and family... well you know how it goes. I've tried to photograph all the pieces that came with it.

The square pieces that are painted a camouflage color are a bit of a mystery to me. As is what may be a motor mount on the back? The ply cover has aged too much but could be used as a template to make a new one. You may have seen this listing before. The last guy jerked me around for a couple of weeks then I guess he realised he didn't want it.

It really is an unusual boat - you can come and look at anytime BEFORE you bid. But don't be like that last goose and bid if you're not sure. Pick up is at Toukley on the Central Coast. Michael phone
