Beautiful Cedar Strip Chesapeak Light Craft Shearwater Hybrid 17 Kayak

It is designed for light touring, but I have used in on longer trips. It can hold a lot of stuff the in the hatches. The composite wood construction is extremely strong, stronger than fiberglass kayaks, and is lighter weight. Plus the cedar strip deck is beautiful.

The hull is constructed of mahogany plywood and the deck is a mix of light and dark cedar and pine strips. The bow and stern are also protected by dynel rubstrips, very tough fabric similar to fiberglass. The kayak also has a rubber day hatch which is behind the cockpit and 100% waterproof plus you can get to it on the water to store snacks or a gps. Overall it is a very well built kayak that I have really enjoyed and the only reason I want to sell it is to get the money to build another. Also, the kayak has been stored inside when not in use its entire life.
