2 Used Poke Boat Recreational Kayaks W/ Paddles, Skirts, Life Vests

Two (2) used yellow Poke Boat recreational kayaks, originally purchased new in the 1990s. Made by the Phoenix Poke Boat company, these kayaks originally cost about $3,000 each (over $6,000 for both boats and accessories); refurbished boats sell for over $2,000 each. These are one-person kayaks made of a composite laminate of plastic, fiberglass, and nylon. They are 12 feet long. We would prefer to sell them together as a pair.

They were used in the 1990s and early 2000s in w. North Carolina and Michigan. They are in very good condition: several minor scrapes and scuff marks, decorative decals, and missing bits of the black decorative striping tape. They do not leak. Each kayak weighs about 40 lbs.

Including the seat, bladder, foot rests, and cockpit cover, and can be carried by one person. Poke Boat kayaks are known for being lightweight and stable, ideal for leisurely paddling, floating, birdwatching, wildlife/nature photography, etc., on lakes, slow rivers or other flat water. They are not suitable for racing, rough sea kayaking, or shooting whitewater rapids (they are not “rollable”). Includes several used accessories in very good condition: two Sawyer paddles, two personal flotation devices / life vests (1 medium, 1 large), two skirts, two cockpit covers, an extra seat, a large Seal Line dry bag, and a security cable with padlock. We also have a Thule car rack system for transporting both kayaks on a car roof — but it has been semi-permanently customized for a mid-1990s Subaru wagon (not adjustable without removing lots of black tape), so unless you have a mid-1990s Subaru or your own roof rack, you’ll have to provide your own method of transporting the kayaks home.

We should have enough straps and rope to secure the kayaks on your car rack, but it you have any of your own rope, please bring it along when you come to pick up the kayaks. See photos. Reason for selling: Downsizing and family members no longer want. For pick up only, near Newland/Linville, North Carolina (about a 40 minute drive from Boone/Appalachian State University, 1 hr 30 mins from Asheville). PayPal or cash. Unfortunately, we don’t have access to water for testing prior to sale. To ensure your financial comfort, I’m okay with a “win now, pay later” arrangement. In other words, you may delay payment until after you come out to inspect/pick up the items (within 2 days). If all looks good, then complete payment while you’re at our home (either cash or via PayPal on your phone).

If the items do not meet your expectations, I’ll cancel the transaction. Of course, if you have any questions, please ask them beforehand to avoid a wasted trip and time.
