A unique breed of sit-on-top kayak designed for touring and distance paddling, the Vector 14 was built to push the performance envelope. Building on the successful launch of the Vector 13, Necky’s first sit-on-top introduction in over a decade, the Vector 14 blends the comfort of a sit-on-top kayak with the efficiency and performance of a traditional touring kayak.

The Vector 14 boasts a long waterline resulting in an easy glide and superior tracking. When propelled forward the boats’ bow enters into the water quickly and smoothly, while a slightly flattened stern results in a shallow draft to help eliminate drag. “The Vector 14 is not your conventional sit-on-top kayak,” explains Necky Kayaks Marketing Director Sara Knies. “Built for distance and speed, the Vector 14 is geared for more advanced paddlers who aren’t as concerned with stability as they are with performance characteristics. While the secondary stability of the Vector 14 is high, the initial stability allows paddlers to lean turn or sit it up on edge with ease.” Featuring a sculpted, supportive touring-style back band and a comfortable molded foam base pad, the Vector 14’s seat was engineered to reduce pressure on the sciatic nerve and prevent leg and foot fatigue associated with paddling longer distances.

The Vector 14 is self-bailing and includes four of Necky’s new patent pending Scupper Valves. These valves are designed to help drain water from the kayak while you are paddling. The Vector 14 also features an innovative nylon tank well cover with multiple adjustment points, similar to a backpack’s compression panel, which provides secure storage without sacrificing access. A true sea going kayak, the Vector 14 can be equipped with a rudder system for increased control in currents, wind and waves. Additional features include adjustable foot pedals, a large Quick Seal bow hatch, small Quick Seal hatch just behind the seat (both featuring the Cross Lock™ buckle system) and a mesh storage pouch.
