Necky Looksha Sport Kayak with Rudder2 boats for sale; Same Model; $400. Each individual; (Might consider discount if you buy both; ie $700 for both).I bought these Looksha last year and used it 4 days in Mendo, in the caves, and up the Noyo river, however for me, up the river was not its specialty, was kinda tired after 8 miles…, but in the ocean it felt great, secure and stable. I built a rudder from stainless steel similar to the OEM Style, and attached it to the factory mounted flanges, however you need a friend to give it a tap up, or tap down; to raise and lower. I added a small bungie to the pull line, and it gets “set” in the OEM cleat. Works perfect.
Both boats have a little oil canning, but nothing you will ever notice while on the water. Bod’s well to not store these boats on their bottom, especially in heat or cartopping… however, they are REALLY built strong!.I have had them in storage under tarps, stored on its side, out of the weather since ~9/2018, when I bought us both P & H Boats to replace these.Hatches all have neoprene covers that go under hatches, all held all water out last year. One hatch is a homemade cover, but worked fine.Ive added some closed cell foam to thigh’s and hips, but that’s all stuff everyone wants to play getting fitted to you.I also replaced all the deck lines and bungies, last year, before I put them in storage.I have these 2 identical boats for sale, one I bought from a friend in Oakland, and the other from a Kayak tour company in Tomales Bay.Pick up only in Stockton, CA; The San Joaquin Delta is 5 min from my house, if you need to demo it.As the name implies, the "Sport" was designed specifically with sporty paddling in mind. It will find a home in rock gardens and surf zone mayhem; anywhere that maneuverability and final stability, are highly valued. This shorter Looksha has significant rocker, and when leaned onto its hard-chined edge, it will spin on its axis.
The Sport is offered with a stern hatch and bulkhead, providing enough watertight storage for day and overnight trips. At 14'4'', the Sport is shorter, lighter and easier to load and cartop than many other kayaks.Weight – Poly 53+LbsLength:14'4"Width: 22.5"Depth: 12.5"Cockpit: 29.5"x16"Rear Hatch: 14.5"x10.5"
