I wanted to get him a kayak made out of a more durable and stronger material but those options were out of our price limit and were also too heavy for him. I was hesitant to go with a kayak made of plastic but the lightweight polyethylene has proved me wrong. My son has been kayaking four times so far this summer and the kayak still looks great.

I like the feature at the front of the kayak for my son to put his feet into the grooves that are provided and allow him to grow into with a few groove options as he grows. I also liked the underside of the kayak because it has subtle fins and grooves to help home row in a straight line. I am also under the impression that the lightweight design allows him to go farther with each row because of the lack of drag. My opinion and initial impression has changed so much that I am seriously considering getting a lifetime kayak for myself for fishing.
