Have used it around 20 times already. Easy to get in and out of, stable, I use a 8 pound anchor that I tie off to a floating jug- then tie to one of the handles. Always anchor it into the wind. Gets a bit wet, but drains well on the water (I'm 220 lbs and had 30 lbs of gear.)I have two Kayaks in different states. The more expensive Kayak was purchased at an end-of-season clearance sale, and I paid $279.00 for a Kayak that was originally a $399.00 Kayak.

The "sale" $279.00 Kayak (not this one) did NOT come with a Paddle. So I had to ADD $50.00 so I could use it... So my "nicer" kayak came in around $329.00 on clearance sale.... The Lifetime Kayak was slightly cheaper at everyday low prices. So let's compare now:My more expensive Kayak Paddle (on sale) = $329.00 tax-no front rod-holder-no padded seat cushion-only one dry hatch (behind) so no way to stow stuff in Kayak while on water (I don't like turning all the way around and risk rolling it)This Kayak (Walmart Lifetime Tamarack Angler) Paddle included - ~$311.00-front swivel rod-holder included-padded seat cushion (comfortable)-Large Circular dry hatch right between legs is easy to store gear and tackleImmediately, the Lifetime Tamarack was better for fishing, for less $$I was fishing without a rod holder on the more expensive kayak, AND Let me just say that having a front rod holder is AMAZING for fish like Trout, Char, Pike, or any species where trolling is an effective way to cover water fast - to find the good spots where the fish are at and then come back to cast those spots... You can paddle and watch your lines while trolling. As for the rear holders, they are for storage when you are NOT fishing. I fished this Kayak on a lake in Alaska where I was told some people fish for days without catching any Dolly Varden, and I caught 10 over 17 inches in about 12 hours fishing.

Also the Paddle I bought is a better paddle than the included paddle; it is more rugged, and has splash guard rings to keep you drier. We use them both for fishing and just to get out on the lake and paddle around. They have been used by adults and older children (8-12 yr olds), and everyone seems to be able to maneuver them easily on the water. My father is 6'3" and 220 lbs and he can sit on one comfortably. They are light enough that they can be carried to and from the water by a strong adult, or 2. They come with paddles that are easy to take apart to transport.

The area for your feet isn't the best.

I'm 5'11 and comfort is right between. One set is too far away, the other is too close. Not a huge deal. We can't wait to use.I loved it. Till it tried to kill me 26 May 20I love it. But one evening I was kayaking in the made island straights and all of a sudden the kayak became real unstable and ended up flipping over dumping me into the water. Tide was coming in. And the surface conditions was real calm.

Everything happened so fast. I flipped the kayak back over and it immediately started sinking real fast so I flipped it back upside down. By this time the current had carried me out into the bay. I fought with it for as while trying to find a balance point where I could keep it from sinking. My only guess is that an air bubble was trapped in the hull.

Eventually just the tip of the kayak was poking out the water and I saw a channel marker approach out of the pitch blackness of where i was that's when I abandoned ship and swam for the marker. Coast guard ended up rescuing me over an hour later. Thank god for life jackets. I really do miss my kayak. I had it for less than 2 weeks.

Unfortunate that I cannot afford to buy another. Not once during my whole ordeal did I fear for my life but in hindsight I should have. It does exactly what I want it to do. I'm a bit heavier of a guy than would probably get this at 230 lbs, but it handles my weight with no problems. It's extremely stable. I can fairly easily stand in it if I want to. I mostly use it in saltwater marsh areas and occasionally take it out on the river.

Don't expect to hit and record speeds on this thing, but that's not what it's made for. That being said, it can keep up with most recreational kayaks. A few musts are a seat cushion or stadium seat, an anchor, a milk crate for storing things for easier access, a better paddle (the one it comes with is a bit flimsy and cheap feeling but it gets the job done), and a net in the storage compartments.
