The only knock legitimate knock I have with this kayak is the scupper holes, especially the location of the two under the seat. I tried the practice golf balls as suggested but water still came through... Im sure Ill figure out something that will work though. I would definitely recommend this kayak and would purchase it again. Nothing to complain about. Worth every penny.

23 May 19 This yak is about as good as it gets for a sit on top, for its price. I got it for $240 on sale. Theres no other options out there that have 2 hatches and that comes with a rod holder. Ive had power boats, canoes, duck boats, and when I was young and very poor in the Marines I cut the top off a Sunfish sailboat and fashioned a makeshift poke boat. I can honestly say I enjoy this kayak as much as any boat Ive ever owned. Ive had it in fairly swift water, 250 cfs, and managed to paddle upstream through several small rapids. Its easy to paddle and highly maneuverable. The seat bottom is not the most comfortable, bit a thick hunting cushion fixed that.

The boat is solid, but light enough to carry alone. I read some reviews before buying that said it was easy to stand up in. I have great balance and struggled to stand and cast in it, but it can be done. Sitting and casting was so easy I didnt really need to stand. When I fished a fairly swift creek I rigged an anchor rope through the rear handle and ran it to the handle next to my seat.

So all I had to do was let line play out til the anchor caught, then tie off on the handle next to me. That kept the boat in place and pointed downstream. Id fan cast an area, pull on the anchor rope til the anchor came off bottom, then just dropped it again when I moved downstream to the next section of creek. I took it on a very large farm pond Monday that is ringed by trees and bushes, and virtually unfishable from the bank. I caught around 20 keeper bass in 3 hours.

This boat is a great deal and perfect for my needs. Great, great no frills boat for people who enjoy simple fishing and paddling. My seat is very comfortable.I made a mod to make the hatches more usable and had not seen it done before.I put Pad Eyes under the hatch and riveted it from the top.
