RELISTING DUE TO TIMEWASTER !! Please dont bid unless you can collect or agree to pay extra for delivery within 100 miles of Dartmouth. No trailer see below........ This is a wonderful boat, and I am only selling it because I am buying a brand-new one Second time I took it out, was in Salcombe Harbour, and I got into one of those massive winds that power up the Harbour. I thought this is going to go very badly, but she just took off and flew down wind. Spray everywhere.
Completely stable. Even gibed, but the boat just takes it in her stride. Quite amazing. The outriggers work incredibly well, and you never feel in any way unstable She sails nicely with just a light wind, or copes with the strong stuff easily. The top of the mast bends away in gusts, so you don’t have to let the main sheet off.
You can reef or furl the main sail in seconds literally. You have dual controls for everything. The trampolines can take children or camping gear et cetera 10 minutes or less once you’re used to it to set up. You can sail, paddle with the Mirage drive, or the kayak paddle, and I fitted a board on the back to attach an electric outboard, which gave me a range of 20 or 30 miles, because it requires almost no power to push along. You can also remove the outriggers and mast and sail to make it into a double kayak.
I will include the board for an outboard. Its a bit rough but works. It just slides into 2 holes in the rear deck. No fixings required. V low tech but works fine.
Everything works well and is in fair condition for its age. I’ve had this for a year or so, and when I bought it, I had to replace all the Mirage drive paddles, which are rubber and eventually wear out. So they are virtually new. Includes new blanking plug for when you only want to use one Mirage drive There are some Scratches underneath as in the pictures nothing untoward. No holes or repairs.
There is a spare rudder pintle in the rear hatch as per picture The only issues are as follows, Could do with new seats, as they are worn out, however, the addition of some Heath Robinson pads has made them work fine, but they are scruffy. It comes without the trailer which I am keeping for my new one. Hobiekayak.co.uk sell a buggy type trailer for launching and moving around. It’s about £250. Https://hobiekayak.co.uk/product/hobie-heavy-duty-plug-in-cart/ Otherwise you can get a standard Road trailer and launching trolley which is what I have and is the ultimate solution.
Hobie are the people to talk to about getting one if you decide to go that way. I would deliver for £100 if you are within 80 miles of Dartmouth On 26-Jun-23 at 10:39:25 BST, seller added the following information: I cant get classifieds board to accept the videos I posted. They are shown as photos. If you want so see them, just ask a question and i will send them to you. It might let me add it that way as well.
