Hobie Adventure Island - Sailing Trimaran Kayak Dingy - Excellent Condition! 

Hobie Adventure Island for sale. A Kayak with 2 outriggers (amas) to form a Trimaran. It's an awesome beach or lake boat, we used it on the beach as both a solo & family sail boat, but we then moved to London - and the Thames isn't quite the same! It has a decent and very easy to use 8.4 square metre sail, plus the revolutionary Hobie 'MirageDrive' pedal power (a design inspired by the evolution of the penguins underwater wings!). The MirageDrive fins power the boat forward at 3-4 miles an hour when there is no/light wind.

The canoe seating and stability means it's also perfect for people who haven't sailed before. With the trampolines fitted between the hull and the outriggers the trimaran has loads of extra deck space and can accommodate a young family. On flat water and with a good wind, the trampoline can be used to 'hike' out on the outrigger and plane. You can pick up some serious sailing speed and have great fun with this kayak whilst knowing that the outriggers make it's almost impossible to tip over. Storage space is plentiful for longer trips, expeditions, day fishing or even camping trips.

The large bow hatch will swallow plenty of gear for storage in the hull. Two 8 inch Twist-Lock hatches feature at the stern and just forwards of the seat, allowing for easy access to the hull for storage. A generous rear tank well will also take plenty of gear or a storage crate for when you need to load up. Mesh pockets feature in the cockpit to store small items you want to keep within easy reach. A versatile, fun and entertaining water craft, it can be used as a sailing boat, a peddle powered canoe, as a single kayak (single/double Kayak paddle included) and as a stable and functional fishing boat (Hobie bait box, water bottle and moulded in holders included).

It also comes with plug-in beach wheels, 2X Helly Hansen Lifejackets, a boat storage/transport bag, rudder guard bag (in bright red for roof rack high viz) protective MirageDrive bag, and roof rack extension bar (to fit to most existing 2 bar roof racks). It has a good set of spares for the MirageDrive. It's has been stored in a garage without much use in the 5 years since moving to London. Then shipped back to the UK in our container and has been in a garage ever since. The Mirage Drive doesn't reverse but does have spare fins and rods. A) Which year / how old is this one? 2011B) is the Mirage drive reversing?
