2 - 2013 Hobie Cat Mirage Pro Angler 14's with TrailerThe Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 14 is a fantastic kayak and these 2 kayaks are no exception. We liked them so much, we named them Bonnie and Clyde. The biggest thing about these is that you can actually fish with your hands while you paddle with your feet. Steering can be done intermittently with either hand using the rudder control and does not distract you from fishing like paddling with your hands. The rudders are retractable, the seats are fully adjustable and the kayaks sit extremely sturdy in the water.
There are so many features and specs that you almost have to go to the Hobie website to see everything. These kayaks have a 600 lb. Capacity limit. The first kayak (Bonnie) comes almost as it was straight from the factory. We did add an anchor trolley and this does come with an anchor, rope and 3 foot of chain rode. Bonnie also has a small tear in the seat (PICTURED).
There are also 2 -5'6" fishing rods with Shakespeare baitcasting reels and a landing net. The floor locker has the smaller boxes already in there but they are empty. The 2nd kayak (Clyde) will come with a lot of fishing gear. There are 5 rods, and a large tackle box made from milk crates with smaller plastic boxes inside. They are all full of tackle. The rods are all 7' rods with Daiwa baitcaster reels except for 1 spinning Shakespeare reel.
This also has an anchor trolley, an anchor and rope with 3 foot chain rode for good holding power. Clyde has a Lowrance depth/fish finder with a smaller 12v battery and charger. The floor locker has the smaller boxes already in there but they are empty. We built the trailer from a 1973 boat trailer so tags were cheaper. This has new tires from last fall and new wheel bearings. Both kayaks sit in cradles made for the Hobie Kayak.
We added a locking Thule Ascent 1700 car top carrier for paddles, 1 set of wheels for rolling the kayaks around while off the trailer and the paddle mechanisms are also stored there. Both sets of paddles mechanisms work great and are fully adjustable for leg length of the user. Both kayaks come with the Original Hobie paddles and we have a lot of extra parts for the kayaks that we keep in there too. Each of these kayaks also comes with plugs that you can use in place of the paddle mechanisms for shallow waters. You won't another package set up like this anywhere near this price. The only thing missing is life jackets.I have a title for the trailer.
The kayaks are registered but not titled in South Dakota. Once you fish out of these, you will agree, they should be titled. These have really turned out to be a couple of the best boats I have ever owned that weren't equipped with sails. Getting them on and off the trailer just hurts too much for too long and I can't justify 3 days of pain for a half day of fishing. I wish I'd have had these 20 years ago when I could still put them to good use.
Getting old sucks but the alternative probably sucks too.Come take a look and see everything. I am open to offers but the price is fairly firm because these are nice, loaded and I am not hurting for money. I would also entertain trades that included a Gibson Dove or Hummingbird.Payment should be cash on pick up.
