Vintage Folbot Kayak Rudder Kit Complete Blade Pedals Seat Backs Custom Sail Arm

These are the complete rudder kit parts, for Folbot which includes rudder blade, arm, pin, pedals and attaching cords to attach arm to rudder pedals, also two seat backs and a custom made rudder arm. And 4 yoks to attach parts to frame of Folbot. This is the Rare, LARGE rudder, that is ample for up wind sailing, with efficient and large powerful main sails and jibs, even with multiple bat wings . Also works great for normal paddling and retracts upward for shallow water. This is NOT the small rudder, that is only adequate for paddling and not for sailing upwind.

The custom arm is strong enough to use with the large rudder in stiff winds, and large efficient powerful sails, the standard Folbot arm not strong enough so I had this light, compact beefy one machined with 3 positions for adjustable control. If you have bent your rudder arm, this is a replacement that should never fail, look at its strength, adjustability and compact and light weight marine grade aluminum. This arm alone would cost a $200 to custom make. If you have not bent your arm, it is just a matter of time. I noticed when fast turns to avoid coral and submurged rocks, that the quick rudder action was bending the old standard arm, (narrow diameter pin) totally inadequate , except for the most gentle and cautious of use.......not acceptable for emergency manuvering.

The pedal brackets attach with out tools to the Folbot frame with included yok parts and wing nuts, the rudder attaches to the rear casting of the Folbot with included pin and the arm fits the rudder and held into position with the included pin that also holds the rudder to the boat casting. The Yoks sell new for $40 plus tax and shipping, 4 are included that alone is $160 worth of parts. All these items are in great condition.Some are new and never used at all. The photos show dissassembled and assembed rudder/arm/pin assembly. Folds up for compact storage and shipping.

The two included RARE seat backs come with some hardware as pictured, some hardware (bolts and nuts) that is missing should be available at most hardware or boating stores and the seat backs attach to the frame of the Folbot and rotate to horizontal position with stainless hinges that allow sitting on top of these for a higher stance, very convenient, and handy, but so much more comfortable than the other seats. With $160 worth of yoks, $200 custom rudder arm, $100 of seat backs, cushions and covers, $300 rudder kit.
