Selling due to nerve damage in my neck which makes kayaking impossible... the moral is Go While You Can! I purchased this Yukon after much research and testing a comparable Long Haul kayak which was very tippy. The Yukon is rightly noted as a big load hauler and an exceptionally stable boat. Even at its comparatively short 13' length the tracking is excellent due to the negative rocker. The color red can be seen from farther away than other colors so it's my choice for any paddle boat.
The first four pics demonstrate the versatility of this folding kayak: 1 & 2 are from a 200 mile trip on the Missouri River, from Kaw Point in KC to Cooper's Landing near Columbia. Thanks to its excellent stability I was able to hang my feet over the edges of the boat to wash them in the river so all that mud was not tracked into the boat. I learned during this long paddle that even an inch forward or backward adjustment on the seat can make a big difference in comfort during extended trips. 3 & 4 were taken in Newfoundland. 3 was at St.
Johns harbor and 4 is looking NW at the NE corner of Bell Island. I do NOT recommend a solo round trip from the Avalon Peninsula to Bell Island but I managed it, thanks to the remarkable capabilities of this boat. The wind picked up on the outbound leg and when I returned waves were 5 - 6 feet which the boat handled easily. If you search Folbot Yukon Bell Island on Youtube you can see some video I shot during the outbound leg of that trip. There was no time for video on the return leg.
:yikes There are a few minor cosmetic blems on the Elvaloy hull, the worst of which is pictured. This boat was sold as an 'Expedition' model which, if memory serves, meant you got the included spray skirt and rudder, both of which are unused. Included is a Werner paddle and an Aqua Bound carbon fiber 4 piece paddle. Both carrying bags are included. The unused Folbot repair kit is included.
Also included are bow and stern flotation bags which are unused. When the sponsons are inflated the boat is literally unsinkable, even when it has a lot of water in it... DAMHIK except I'll say use the spray skirt in 5 - 6 foot waves. I've listed it as local pickup but will ship if the buyer pays actual packing and shipping costs. I have no way of knowing how much that might be but we can sort it if needed. Read my seller feedback since 2001 and bid with confidence.
