This touring kayak is as light as they come. Perfect for day trips and weekend getaways, the Kiawah gets you there nice and easy. Although not as fast as the longer Cooper, the Kiawah is incredibly maneuverable and stable. A light and easy to assemble, folding kayak with the Folbot revolutionary tensioning device, the Kiawah tracks like an arrow, has good initial and secondary stability and gets up to speed extremely quickly. The Kiawah comes with backpack, foot pegs and molded seat.

Completely made in the USA. Frame is assembled completely outside the boat skin and then placed inside. Tensioning comes from our much-copied adjustable stern tensioning mechanism and two full length sponsons. Tracks well, primarily because of the scalloped cross section of hull fabric when in the water. It creates the feeling of having three full-length skegs.

Stability is good because of a generous beam. Materials Hull: principal component is Elvaloy - a polymer with toughness and flexibility. It provides superior abrasion, tear, puncture and UV resistance. It does not break down over time and is resistant to changes due to prolonged exposure to heat, UV and salt water. Your boat's hull will continue to maintain its shape, flexibility and color - and better protect you from sharp surfaces.

I assembled the kayak to make sure all the parts were there, but it has never been in the water. It comes with the backpack, dry bag, sticker, and assembly instructions.
